The HFFL will try once again!

Last year, we were disappointed upon hearing the Hardcore Fantasy Football League was shutting down before the start of the season and the Wichita Predators and Mike Myers weren't going to excite the crowd. What a difference a year makes!

The HFFL will again look to start in August, but there is one clear difference. Mike Myers has moved out of Wichita and moved into Colorado, vacated by last year's owner John Patrick II and the Rocky Mountain Red Dogs. The Colorado Freeze and Mike Myers are setting up not only thier operations, but Denver is also the new Headquarters for the HFFL offices, originally set up in Wichita.

Patrick hasn't left the HFFL at all, in fact he's relocated as well. To Wichita, Kansas. That's right, John Patrick II will head up the Wichita Wolves organization. So the HFFL will be in Wichita this season and Wichita will have a strong rivalry with the departed Myers and the Colorado Freeze.

"I am hoping it will be very competitive." John Patrick II said in a telephone interview yesterday. "Mike and I decided to switch locations. Colorado was too cold for me and Mike loves the cold weather. Besides, I grew up in Wichita and this is my home."

John also has a new challenge. His father, John Patrick Sr., has decided to join the HFFL and headed up to Green Bay where he will run the Gremlins' organization. Sam Pierce has returned as well and will reopen operations in St. Louis with his Serpents.

"If we can get the other four franchises relatively soon, we can have a great season that will overshadow last year's demise. With Sam back and my Father, who is a former Fantasy Champion in his own league, this will be a great season."

Activity will not start until late July or early August. We here at the Wichita Eagle will be watching and will bring you more as the season develops.
