Cleveland is announced as the eighth franchise
After several weeks of negotiations Commissioner Myers and Cleveland Owner Eric Matlock have come to an agreement. The Cleveland Cobras will become the HFFL's eighth franchise.

Commissioner Myers announced that the HFFL has reached it's limit of franchises for the HFFL's inagural season. He had the following to say: "Eight franchises to me is a perfect number to start things off with. Next season we will most likely expand to ten or twelve teams, depending on the applicants."
